Super Thursday

Another busy day at home. We started the day building (and demolishing) towers. Xander was really excited about different configurations, and Augustus was really passionate about knocking them down. The solo cups make a really fun crashing noise when they fall down, so it’s very satisfying. They were busy for about 30 minutes with this activity, so I was happy!

More pinterest-ing for me- this time it was spiderweb snacks. They were a hit!

The boys wrestled and played for another 30 minutes while I was cleaning the kitchen and doing laundry. At one point, I hadn’t heard them for a while and I found them in our bed- they’d cleared off all the pillows and blankets and were wrestling around.

Small group time was a superhero craft- they colored the bodies and then we added their heads.

We went outside before lunch for a while.

Then it was rest time.

After rest time, we went back outside to ride bikes and play int he secret lair.

When we came inside, the boys played independently for a long time and then we did a scavenger hunt, which they loved. They ran around finding clues and worked together very nicely.

We’ve been adding in a few more chores lately- they have been cleaning up their toys more, and we’ve just started having them put their laundry away. Right now, they think it’s really fun- I had them piles (Augustus shirts, Xander shirts, Augustus pants, Xander pants, socks, pjs) and they run to their room to put them away. They set and clear off the table after dinner. And Augustus helped me cook dinner, which isn’t a chore, he just loves to be in the kitchen.

After bath time, Grandma Renee read the boys some bedtime stories.

It was a very good day!
